seeking relief from a7a woes

hello,
im usually quite independant but on this issue i come seeking guidance from the wisdom of the foroms. youve probably heard this one:
my a7a-266 will not boot. with tested parts: athlon 1ghz, infineon 256mb pc133 sdram, sapphire radeon 9200 or ati rage pro turbo agp 2x, and i have ddr ram from other computers and a new 350w suppy.
installed jumper-free mode jumper and voltage jumper as per the manual, set all dip switches to off, except 5 for the sdram. nadda. led is on, fans spin, power is running. when switch is off for the ddr and using some pc2700 (supposed to work fine, run slower) i get the loop beeps, meaning theres no ram, as per the manual. ***. at this point my left eye is twitching. i put the thing on a cardboard box and it doesnt go. the thing will not post. what else. i got a maxtor 34098h for pri master on a 80pin cable with a little notch on the one wire on one end and an lg burner on a 40 pin for second master. ive also tried to manually adjust the bus speeds and the mutiplier to no avail. if anyone knows what to do next please post a reply, or just tell me i have a dead mobo and forever ruin my trusted relationship with asus. thank you
