anyone run a 1333mhz fsb cpu on a p5w dh deluxe ? - Page 2

no, i mean can i copy the vista dvd contents to hdd say c:\vistainst.dvd, and install vista from there ?? this is what i do with xp and every windows before.

Im not sure on that, normaly when i load windows its off the dvd because im formating the hard drive. I guess you could try but i dont think if that will work.

ok did some more testing,,, it HAS to be what you suggested before , the speed of the ram....
why ? because i put back the 2gb and went back to 4gb total and installed xp again on another partition and all went ok. so it's not the size of ram.. plus, remember that with the q6600 @1066 and 4gb i installed xp yesterday twice with no issues, but also before when i 1st got 4gb, so thank God.... because i'm still better of with 4gb even in 32 bit o/s, as i have 1.5gb available (when using 2gb) once xp loads and 2.7gb available with 4gb after xp loads. so i still get an extra 1.2gb ram... that's sweet.

looks like my ONLY choice without getting new ram/mb is to go for the qx6800... or lower the ram speed..

Another thing to try is with running 4 memory chips you need to up the voltage alittle.

I will try the QX9650 on the P5B-e when it comes out--will have the same approach ---reduce the memory/fsb ratio.

That board will support the 1333fsb cpus with a bios update but i dont think it will work with the new 45mm cpu's. Few P35 boards do and the new x38 boards have full support of the 45mm technology.

I just ordered the ASUS P5E3 Deluxe Wi/Fi Mb and Corsair DDR3 1600C7DHXIN 2 gig kit, I'm just waiting fot the QX9650 to be available, this MB should be able to recognise that cpu with the bios that comes with the board? I think I've read it does any info would be Great...

With bios 0601 your board will.
