| Hey Slider that looks like a pretty nice setup.Nice temps to.It was a toss up between that board and the one I have now.I couldn't decide one way or the other at all.So I tossed a quarter and got the DQ6.I can't say I would have felt a loss either way.But I do feel some what like a turn coat for leaving Asus this round.Well maybe I'll toss that coin again sometime lol.But anyway good luck with your new setup. ![]()

| I got a Conroe E6600 to replace my space heater (Pentium 955EE at 3.73Ghz). It's much faster than the EE in everything and runs about 15C cooler. Couldn't be happier. Only wish I had saved my money to get the X6800.

| I can't believe I found this site after over 2 years, after losing my bookmarks, and user name, password, etc! Anyway I built my 1st, and 2nd systems, based on the Asus P4PE MB, over 3 yrs ago, and have been very happy, except for the the occasional cold boot, due to the imagination of the (bios)the little oriental lady posting, telling me that the overclocking failed, a few times a year( I don't overclock) has been bullet proof! I just finished building a e6400, Asus P5B mb, Corsair 2x1g twin pc6400 c4 ddr2 ram, and it is up and running. But what I've read on other various forums, and the stress, that I've run into doing the research over the last month, about compatibility with memory, and Asus bios, and the Conroe cpu, all I can say is that I'm happy all has gone well with my build!

| Asus P5B Did you get the "deluxe" or the vanilla version of the P5B? Just asking because I am also interested and the deluxe is priced significantly higher and has a lot of whistles and bells I don't need. I especially wonder whether the vanilla version overclocks as well, as it does not have the heatpipe / 8 phase power design / whatever of the deluxe version.

| I just got onboard yesterday, and discovered the ICH8R will find RAID 0 arrays from the ICH5R and boot OK. Had to do some XP adjusting but am now working with all my old stuff. ASUS P5B Deluxe, E6400, 2gig Rendition (2X1) matched. I still have to solve some slow boot issues, go buy a parallel port add in card, and some more minor stuff, but like everything so far. |
