Think you're right about the higher cpu's running cooler. I oc'd my E6400 to 2.4GHz, with temps of around 50c. Wish they'd run a little cooler. I got mine this cool by getting an Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7 hs/fan, and disabling cpu fan control in BIOS. My E6400 rocks so far, am very happy with it!

I have it running at 3.2 ghz now everthing at stock voltage. Is there anything a guy needs to disable in the bios? What about cpu voltage, how high can you raise it. Current temps folding two instances is 52-53C.

How's the P5B? Have you had a chance to play with the array mic yet?

I'am pleased with the board with few exceptions, the main reaseon for swapping my P5W DH for the P5B Dlx was that the P5B has the multiplier manipulation option and the P5W DH doesen't, now the bad side, the board didn't boot with my Patriot memory ( the P5B Deluxes don't boot with bios prior to 0609 if you use double sided 16chip memories, and guess what, all P5Bs are shipped with older BIOS ), so I had te get some other memory to boot and flash the bios. Everything else seems to be in order.
Now the mic thing I've had the array mic from one dead M2N SLI board, so I've played with it on the P5W DH, it's a stereo mic, really I'am not shure what's the big thing about it, a microphone like any other, just with two mic units, each for a separate channel ( Left & Right ) thus didn't tried the back noise cancelation since I've didn't had a chance to try it with back noise but will test in comming days

Since I have to change everything I'm waiting for a DX 10 video card. Hopefully motherboards, Bios, and Vista will improve while I wait. Also these prices have to come down to earth, mb,memory, cpu. My 2 cents.

I was able to reach this overclock I found on Tom's Performance page, but my video scores were very low. CPU scores were good.

I am using default MCH, don't know what to set that at. I am running the CPU at 1.37 v. This thing gets hot under load, 78c, but so far, no problem with that. It's been running 24/7. It cools down to about 57c at idel. But I have been running GO-SP004. So the thing is hot !

Re: Conroe Users - Check-in

This is an old post. But I wanted to post a picture of the fastest overclock on my x6800.This will be the last I will attempt it with this cpu.I may be upgrading soon.To what I don't know yet.I may just opt to get a quad core cpu and maybe a new video card and hold out for another year. Then upgrade everything.
