| Re: E8500 overclock result..so far !! Already did 1 hour and 15 min. BLEND...had to raise the Mem/Volt to 2.3 With 2.275 I got an error within two minutes, with 2.3 it seems to work fine. Don't have time now, will do a longer test later on Forgot, with these settings...74 FPS at the start of GT Legends Race/Sim !! Hans.

| Re: E8500 overclock result..so far !! It sure is...strange, with a cold start PC-system same settings as above suddenly problems within some minutes If I get problems with my memory I get some kind of flickering light at the top of my screen...lowered the MHZ a little of my memory, its gone. Also with higher VOLT memory, but I like to keep it 2.300V. So the setting above is to much. Now running for two hours and no errors, BLEND PRIME with: CPU 4.0 again and X9 mulitplier and Memory 4-4-4-10-1T So this way (CPU 4.0) and 9 multi the memory get some extra air so to speak If this is three hours stable, I will try CPU 4.1 and 9.5 multiplier and 4-4-4-10-1T...also three hours, both without errors, I use the setting which gives me the most FPS, after all its my gamemachine FORGOT, TEMP >>max 63C with room/temp >> 22C Hans

| Re: E8500 overclock result..so far !! Almost victory !!!!!..with this, CPU 4.0 >> Multiplier x9 ...this with only 1.39 Vcore. (FSB at 1.4V) ...rest AUTO in BIOS/VOLT/SECTION Memory running at 889 MHZ with 4-4-4-12-1T and using 2.3V (BIOS) Room temp at the moment 26C ...with this MAX TEMP 66C during a four hour BLEND TEST of PRIME.After four hours...not a single error Some more tests.... hope to call it a real victory soon, fingers crossed Hans.

| Re: E8500 overclock result..so far !! Awesome As I mentioned previously, when you are finished with these tests you may also want to try slightly increasing your PCI-E frequency to see if it helps your fps in games. I don't have a feel for how much it can typically be increased without causing instability, because I'm not a gamer, but it would seem to be worth trying. Regards, -- Al

444 MHz fsb x 9.5 multiplier = 4.222 gHz! Orthos must be assuming the multiplier is 9.5, or else it is set to 9.5 in the bios, or else the mobo is running it at 9.5 even if it is set to 9. Check it with CPU-Z and/or Realtemp, while the cpu is under load, and if they say 4.0 then Orthos is wrong. -- Al

| Re: E8500 overclock result..so far !! Yesterday, four hours BLEND, today eight hours Large FFT's. 3Dmark also no problem....anything more I should do PCI-E frequency set to 125 makes only a difference if a game needs a fast Video-card like Race07 or rFactor, GT Legends and GTR2 needs a fast CPU and memory so not much difference with those. Hans

I have no experience overclocking the PCI-E bus, because I'm not a gamer, but going up 25% strikes me as a bit aggressive. You might want to check your graphics processor core temperature, which SpeedFan, at least on my system, indicates as "Core." (It indicates cpu core temps as "core0" and "core1," and cpu case temp as "cpu"). -- Al
