Angry no Luck

Hi randy,

Well i too am in desperate search for that adapter
All other efforts have been in vain. More so the offset plastic tab is of no practical use as it has no corresponding plastic tab at the other end...

I have no clue as to why this is the case but both these
plastic tabs are offset at both ends and serve no purpose... If someone could please enlighten us as to why those tabs exist?!

Also the vendor has refused replacement of the board under warranty as he says it has been damaged because of the users negligence....well it has been actually

bye

At http://www.millisec.com in the socket heatsink section they have a special clip for $11 that you can use to hold onto the other plastic tabs ,if you broke one.

I can't get that link to work. I think the Japanese characters cause my browser to not even display the page. Maybe I need to enable japanese language support or something? Does anyone know what the thing is called or the company that makes it? That would help the search.

I would pay maybe $15 or $20 US, but not $80. Wire trick isn't that difficult to do. Another story if I break my socket tab tho. Still, I'd like to try to find it in the US just to see the price at least.

I totally agree with you $80 is way to much, maybe if it was around $20 I would not mind buying one ,but $80 is highway robbery.

Anyway you found the adaptor.....the picture I had was from someone else who posted in the old forum.
I think your link would be the same place where that picture came from as its japanese.
I remember from the old post too that it was pretty expensive........damn!
What to do now try repair your socket?Or adaptor,or new m/b?

I posted the original link here is more info:

http://www.users-side.co.jp/catalog/.../poweradapter/

The price seems high to me too but I am going to order one anyway. I have an orderform with the part number put into so we can order them. With shipping they said 95 bucks and said it will take up to two weeks to get shipped here from Japan. Maybe if I get one we can figure out a way to reproduce them here for much less dinero?

Cool deadlock

I am interested to hear how this works.
Maybe this is better than the pin trick and more flexible.
Please keep us informed...
