| Intel D975XBX2 and Windows XP startup issues Hi, I have recently built a new system with the following components: Intel Q6600 processor Intel d975xbx2 mobo EVGA 8800GTS PCI-E 320MB video card 2GB 667MHz Kingston Ram 500GB SATA WD Caviar HD 700W PS I created a slipstreamed Windows XP/SP2 cd and have been able to install Windows. The problem is that when the system reboots, it hangs at the Windows XP startup screen. However, the computer will boot into Safe mode without a problem. I have updated the bios to the most current version and I am still have the same issue. Any advice would truly be appreciated. Thank you. |

| Re: Intel D975XBX2 and Windows XP startup issues Did you install the intel chipset drivers?Does the dotted bar still move on the start up screen ?If it does did you wait for like 10 minutes to see if does bootup all the way?In safe mode can up do a check disk on drive C: ? It also may be a hardware issue or voltage problem with the CPU or Ram set at auto in the bios.
