| Let me preface this reply by admitting that I am a true rookie when it comes to overclocking and the cusl2 but your situation sounds similar to one which I was able to resolve by changing some settings in the BIOS. I am running my system using a PIII 1000Mhz FC-PGA W/256 MB of GoldenRam PC-100 and Windows ME. Under the Bios setup menu, my initial "FSB:SDRAM:PCI Freq. ratio" settings under the "Advanced" menu were 133:100:33 and when I attempted to overclock the processor by setting the "CPU internal Frequency" to "manual" then changing the "FSB/SDRAM/PCI Freq. (Mhz)" setting, I wasn't able to gain much speed before Windows wouldn't load. On a hunch I changed my "FSB:SDRAM:PCI Freq. ratio" setting to 133:133:33. I then tryed various settings under the "FSB/SDRAM/PCI Freq. (Mhz)" setting and was finally able to top out at 150:150:37 without any serious program crashes. This gave me a processor speed to 1125 Mhz. |
