Did you buy a retail or OEM version of Vista 64. If you buy or bought an OEM version you have to specifiy right away, whether or not you want 32bit or 64bit Vista.

I'm using Readyboost, which is essentially setting up a ramdrive, from my understanding, and Vista 64 caches the applications I use most to it. I buy a 4GB USB Memory stick today for $22.99 from a local computer shop. That's how cheap a 4GB USB Memory stick is locally.

Perhaps, but in the last couple of years I've played everything really old that I want to play. I went back and did the Thief series. Those were pretty much the only really old games I wanted to play again and now I'm done. Time to move on.
Right now the oldest game I'd consider playing again is Quake 4.
This new system is being designed specifically to allow me to play Stalker: Clear Sky in DirectX10, so old games are not of any consideration.

I was going to build a dual boot of Xp and Vista 32 bit, so I can do the Dx10 games and still play the old greats when the whim takes me

That's a very good idea and an excellent alternative to just going full Vista ahead.

TQ, I'm running 64bit Vista on my machine, and about 90 percent of the games I have, run just fine on 64bit Vista. However really old games don't run on 64bit Vista, espicially those that use a hybrid 16bit/24bit install routine, or are generally designed to run on Win95/98 only.

I've got a Windows95 games, called Golden Nugget, it's a casino game, and it works on Vista 64, as long as I run it in XP with Service Pack 2 compatibility mode.

I've noticed that C&C 3 actually performs better from what I've seen on Windows Vista.

If you've played Bioshock or are going to, Bioshock actually looks excellent in DX 10.

BioShock's one that I've been meaning to replay, but I have my sights set on Mass Effect as the first game I'll champagne-bottle smash on this new machine.

I'm looking forward now too to Mass Effect, now that they changed the DRM scheme.

Decided to put off getting my utilities until next month. The utilities I use, help keep my system running at it's peak effiency.

That would be an unfair comparison, since the Mushkin is PC2-8500 (DDR2-1066).
