| New build - which of these two options? Ok so one is based on an AMD but here it goes anyway. My new parts list looks like this: AMD: Mobo: GA-MA78GM-S2H CPU: Athlon64 X2 4850E RAM: 2 X 2 GB Kingston HDD: WD 320 GB DVD: Donor drive GPU: Asus Radeon 4850 Case: Coolermaster Elite 340 PSU: Corsair 450W CPU cooler: Mini Ninja Intel: Mobo: Asus P5E-VM SE CPU: Core 2 Duo E7200 RAM: 2 X 2 GB Kingston HDD: WD 320 GB DVD: Donor drive GPU: Asus Radeon 4850 (onboard for starters) Case: Coolermaster Elite 340 PSU: Corsair 450W CPU cooler: Mini Ninja The reviews all indicate I'll get better performance out of the Intel, but is it worth the extra $ ? The system will be serving as a budget gaming rig. |

| Re: New build - which of these two options? Seeing as the only differences are the mobo/cpu combo, and it's for a "budget" system, I think the performance/price difference is something of a personal preference. I personally think I'd go with the smaller TDP of the AMD processor.

| Re: New build - which of these two options? Sure So obviously only the CPU and Motherboard differ in the two setups. Everything else is identical.
