| I removed "-advmethods" from one of my consoles last week and received a 600 point gromac after the 450 point QMD was completed.

| I'm still folding the 600 point gromac. It's about 62% @ 50 mins/step. It's taking alooooooooong time to fold. I have the other 3 consoles folding QMDs. I can fold qmds alot faster than the 600 pointer. Those 600 point gromacs are nice, but I think I will stick with the qmds..... Cheers Phalinx

| Well the results are in. The 600 point gromac completed today. It started folding on the 19th and finished on the 24th. So, now I've reset the console w/-advmethods -local to accept QMDs or alteast try to get the 450 qmds. I can turn in on average 2 QMDs/day w/6 consoles going between two machines. That's better than folding 2-3 600 gromacs for the week! I've been reading some posts over @(Folding at home) and there have been some discussions made pertaining to bonus points for turning in early wu's. I hope they don't. Eventhough I do have Intel HT cpu's, it would be better to fold w/one's own equipment and fold for a team I've got the impression that some posters over there wanted bonuses for themselves and no one else. I don't think the people w/P3 machines wanted others w/ HT cpus (p4,zeons) or Amd (64, Opterons) to have any more points awarded to them for having better machines. It seems they lost sight of the BIG PICTURE over there....FOLDING FOR SCIENCE... Cheers Phalinx

| So you're saying using switches again is getting better production? Sounds like I may need a tune up to get the most out of my machines here...

| Well as far as my own settings go, if I set the consoles with no settings, I can receive 64 to 600 point proteins. I think some of our machines/cpus/amount of ram are analyzed for folding potential and are assigned to certain servers. So, these past two weeks I've decided to use the -advmethods -local on three of the 4 consoles on Rig1. The forth console received anywhere from 64 - 600 point proteins. However, I wanted an even folding environment. So, today, I've reconfigured the 4th console w/ the flags. Now I'm folding all QMDs again. Every console is running at 100% and I can still browse the internet, post, download programs, and so on... By the way, the QMDs are optomized for sse2 and sse3?? instructions. I do have the sse2/sse3 boost enabled. Also, does setting the "timered chechpoint triggered" have any influence on when a frame is completed? I have all of mine set for 3 minutes... Cheers Phalinx
