| Re: FAH GPU client now Available for nVidia! Currently just running it one of my other rigs which has a 9600GT, but it's pulling a decent 3500PPD according to Fahmon.

| Re: FAH GPU client now Available for nVidia! Same here, but my system it one of those suffering the *lag* bug. Which means that running GPU2(nVidia) slows my whole system to a crawl. nVidia understands the bug an is expected to a fix soon. So it's not good for me right now. But, I'm hoping to pick up a 9800 GTX end of summer and start folding again. Some folks have gotten ~5000PPD from that card. |

2) I know that feeling. The wife doesn't let me play 24 hours a week either, but when I was single, I think I played KOTOR for 14 straight hours. | |

If I open that Display or FAHViewer or wachamacallit thingy, everything goes completely into lag land and eventually the computer crashes. So I don't use that.

| Re: FAH GPU client now Available for nVidia! I have had lockups when trying to play UT2007 when I was GPU folding. Even if I paused the work unit, it would sometimes lockup my computer. I have had it stopped for about a day, and the crashing stopped. Not sure if my GPU was getting too hot. Looks like temps peaked at about 81c which is hot, but not too bad for a GPU.

| Re: FAH GPU client now Available for nVidia! Ok, the folding rig has basically just been folding and I haven't used it for playing any games, at least not when the GPU client was running. I'll check whether it crashes if I try running games on it this weekend. While folding, the GPU reaches about 55C, it has a big chunky cooler on it, Xpertvision (who made this 9600GT) didn't use the nVidia reference one.

| Re: FAH GPU client now Available for nVidia! I get the lagging even though I change the affinity (on the FAH exe, so each time the core runs it inherits the affinity). Not every system has the lag bug, for whatever reason. Hmm, that's kind of wacked SupDawg - I'm ok if I pause folding, but I've only done about 36 hours of testing - I really need to wait till the nV lag bug is fixed) |

| Re: FAH GPU client now Available for nVidia! Yeah.. It's cool though, I kind of expected it since this is a beta client. I might try to get one of those new video cards out in July if they are a lot better than my GTS. It has done me well, but time to upgrade.

| Re: FAH GPU client now Available for nVidia! You may want to go into the notification bar applet and set the GPU to run at a slightly higher priority - this should give you a better idea of what it's folding output is b/4 you upgrade. |

| Re: FAH GPU client now Available for nVidia! I started folding with this client in the PC with the 8800gtx. I am getting around 4200 points per day according to Fahmon, which is a lot higher than what I am getting with the SMP client, around 2500 points per day folding mainly the 1920 point proteins.

| Re: FAH GPU client now Available for nVidia! Yeah, pretty insane!! I'm getting 3500PPD with my 9600GT. I'm one of those who suffers from the lag problem, so I'm just folding a bit a night. I figure that by late summer they should have the kinks worked out, then maybe I'll think about a 9800 GTX which are running somewhere in the 5000+ PPD range. |

| Re: FAH GPU client now Available for nVidia! I downloaded the drivers posted in the Nvidia forums here: NVIDIA Forums -> Windows 177.35 CUDA 2.0b2 Driver Update I have not seen any lag while using the drivers posted in the above forum. Plus, I noticed the CPU utilization is only 3% or 4% with these drivers. I have seen in the Folding forum where the CPU utilization is 25% on a quad core or 50% on a dual core system.

| Re: FAH GPU client now Available for nVidia! Hmmm, I may have to try this on my G92 8800 GTS in SEP, when the code has settled a bit. Right now I don't want to gimp my gaming. Please, all of you, refrain from gaining on me until the client is finalized. I just hit #15 in the rankings and don't want to give it up! |
