FAH GPU client now Available for nVidia!

Well, 25% on a Quad, of course, means one full cpu in use. Those of us that have that problem can hardly do anything with the computer after that for some as of yet unknown problems. Thanks for the link on those drivers, I'll see if they are different than the ones I DLed last week.

Try changing the Processor affinity to use just CPU 3 for the FahCore_11 process within task manager to see if this helps.

I tried to fold with this client on my other computer with the 8800GT, but the GPU temperature goes to 100 Celsius. I went back to folding the SMP client on this machine as I do not want to melt the GPU on the 8800GT.

It was already set to that (by the newest beta of FAH for GPUs). It appears that what ever happens the display is just stuck in super slow motion. nVidia's working hard on a fix, I'm sure they'll figure it out.

Another +, there is a new multi-GPU core. Just stop folding, delete FahCore_11.exe and start back up and the new core will be downloaded. More info is in the forums and the FAQs. Man, with 4 9800 GTXs on Skulltrial or the Spider platform (a much less expensive solution) and one system could be pumping out 20K PPD

Oh cool! I'm going to pee my pants, the price of the 9800 GTX (pretty much a monster folder) will be dropping lower than originally expected

I had to uninstall the GPU client as it was causing the computer to lag. Hopefully they will get it fixed.

The GPU client works without any lag on the Vista computers. But, it has the lag problem on an XP Pro machine. Sounds like a driver issue. Hopefully they release a newer XP driver to resolve this lag issue.

Yes, that's what I read as well. I'm going to suspend GPU folding for a while till nVidia gets things straightened out, or I get Vista - which ever comes first.

I am running Vista 64bit and have noticed a real slow down in the system since installing the GPU client.

I uninstalled it from my system but it was still lagging like crazy, so I did a complete reinstall from a backup and it still was no better. Did a hard drive check with WD software and found the drive was failing so reinstalled on a different drive and now it is running normal again.

It looks life Stanford just released new proteins worth only 430 points. This has lowered my points per day as these proteins take a longer time to complete compared to the 480 point proteins.

I'm installing a second 9600GT card today, but instead of doubling my PPD I'll be lucky if I get a 50% increase
