Nobody has posted here in a while.

Well I am back.

I have a gromac thats going to take 10 days on my machine!

I can't wait until I get my 3 Ghz Hyperthread system!!!

At least I have a certificate for 1000+ score and a certificate for 50+ Work Units.

I see I hadn't lost my old place

Okay, this is the first time I've ever tried to fold on any of my computers so this may sound n00bish but here goes...I just got my first Gromac and under
WU End: It says that this gromac will be done in 52 Days 1 hour 57 minutes...Is this right??? Good god!

here is the gromac label:

p854_p53dimer854
GROMACS Core

Is it really going to take this long or is this just a really bad estimate by the F@H Client?

The estimate you received was calculated by the time of the first step taken. If you were doing something intensive, it will skew your times. I just checked my log, and it took my Athlon64 @ 2.33 ghz 18 hours to complete.

By the Way, Welcome to the team if you so choose to continue!

I reinstalled my OS yesterday after having too many difficulties with sp2 but before I did that I paused f@h and copied the directory to a different partition, then after the reinstall I just pasted it back in and it fired up as if I had'nt changed anything still forgot to save my email addresses though

you can change your name, although it won't be credited for those points. I had a few names before i settled on FB-_-+

welcome to the team, we are glad to have you

Seems it's better for FAH to run only one unit on a HTed P4.

From Vijay Pande himself:

According to Vijay Pande, it is better for science to run with protein only on P4 machines that have processors that support HT. But, if we are folding for points, then it is okay to fold with 2 consoles at the same time.

It could be better because the proteins fold faster with just one console running and they would get the results back faster.
