It all appears to be in the right place here (my fah folder). And the log is updating... Not sure what's happening with yours.

Noah,

Once you get the routine down for running as a service, please post an updated procedure. I would like to make a little exe or batch file that can quickly setup computers, with a prewritten client.cfg file. After I get a quick install method, I hope to add about 20GHz.

Will do. So far, the service procedure is working just fine for me. I want to wait until I have it going on all of my machines as once and can be sure there are no glitches. Then we can streamline it.

BTW - Welcome to the fold Griff!

Great work, Noah.

I've forgot the link for it but I do have a copy. It's similar to Noah's...only there's a batch file for it to install the services and registry file. I've try it out myself few weeks before and it works just fine. You guys might find it useful.

I found the install guide for it. Link

Maybe once everything is clear, we can clean up this thread.

I don't like the overclockers.com.au version.
netsvc isn't necessary in my version.
It's srvany.exe, not "srvanny" as they spell it.
Their's look even more complicated than mine.

Can we just create a batchfile and reg file for mine? I can probably do it tonight and make it even simpler.

Exclamation

Just go here: FireDaemon and download the free version, makes quick work of adding a service.

The MS Win2k Resource kit has a gui for adding services as well.

PS I wish this particular thread was like the news thread, where the post is actually submitted to a moderator and then add. That way there would only be, say, a half a dozen posts dealing with different topics.

FAH service installer

Well, after an attempt to write an installer myself (a batch file for commands needed), I found something better. Here's a windows installer for Folding at home as a service. Hopefully it can help out any people who have access to many windows comps (network and sys admins) and want to install it easiliy. Comes from Ythan of [H]:

Cheers!
