large WU question

I slected the large WU box since I have high speed internet now. I noticed that it works on one WU for a little bit then it changes to another one. Is that normal and what is the reason for doing that?

Which client are you using? The console, SMP or the graphical one?

I use the SMP one with the option for large WU's and do not experience the situation that you describe. The large WU option will assign you to a project, if there is one, that could have large demands such as upload/download size and/or RAM requirements.

I've never actually seen the client switch to another unit as you have described. Can you post fahlog.txt, or a portion of it, to see what is going on?

Is your system overclocked? Maybe it's not stable enough for F@H, which can happen even if you system seems to run perfectly. Try to throttle it back a little and see if that helps.

Looking at your profile, I'd guess that you are overclocked too high for F@H (Mr. "warranty voider" ).

I am actually at stock speeds for everything right now. I just put the system back together a few days ago. I am having some issues with it though. I have been getting BSODs like crazy. I'm not sure if the OS install went bad or what. Temps seem fine.

Back to the topic, the WUs have not been changing since the last BSOD that caused it to start over again. I am using the graphical client. Under "frames completed" it would change from 125/2500 to 125/500 and work for a little bit. A few houes later it would go from 300/500 to 300/2500. That's just an example. The current WU would also change the same time the completed frams number changed. I'll post more later if it starts doing that again.
