Re: Toot your horn here.

Anyone know how to get the new SMP client to work Version 6.22. If you are running the old version do not shut it down as it expired a couple of days ago and will not start up again.

I downloaded the "6.22 beta2 for MPICH" and installed it after I uninstalled the old version. I did not utilize the -SMP in the shortcut as mentioned in the Folding forum. I created a shortcut for fah, configured the client using -configonly, then got rid of the -configonly and added -forceasm. It worked after I executed the shortcut.

Does it use all the cores if using a multicore processor if you install it this way? Thanks for the info.

It does use all 4 cores. How many cores does your system use when you use 6.22?

I tried it briefly last night and it only was using one core so I uninstalled it.

Checkout this thread at the Folding Forum:

Folding Forum • View topic - Not using 100% CPU usage with Deino?

They are being told to use -shm option to get all cores running at 100%.

I tried the Deino version first. I never could get past 63 99 core error.

I am currently running the MPICH version. It installed over the old 5.9 beta and runs as before with only 4 cores.

How do you get it to run four cores. All I get are small work packets and it takes four to eight hours to do them 84-120 points, P-4596.

Make sure you download the MPICH package from this link:
Folding@home - DownloadWinOther

Install it and use it like version 5.91. This is what I did to get all 4 cores working.

I installed it again and replaced the Fah exe with the updated 5.91 exe and it works now.
