| I just went to radioshack and bought a 4cm fan for the "Greenie" for 9.99. Im gonna put some double sided tape on it and stick it to the "Greenie". I also bought a small aluminum heatsink. 'For TO-220' When I was feeling around on which chip to place it on I noticed that the small rectangular chip right next to the dip switches gets real hot at 160FSB. Sp hot to the touch that I can't keep my finger there. Anyone else know where I should also place a heatsink? |

| That heat picture is cool. I mean hot. Thanks for pointing it out for me. I just ordered 3 (10mm x 20mm) little heatsinks with the Thermal tape from http://www.2cooltek.com |

| thks guys they are actually an old P2 heatsink chopped up. heh, they have to be good for something now don't they? it took a hacksaw and a sheet of emery paper, and about three days of sanding and polishing as i, umm, *werked*... i'm kinda lucky, i can get a way with putting time in on my cases here at werk....somedays. then it was a simple mix of AS2 with a bit of AS epoxy, and boom... instant sinks...i have like 6 left, i just haven't got to attaching them yet...gotta target a few more of those spots from the thermal pic.... cryogen

| oh yea, LW..that chip next to the dip switches.. the one that gets REAL hot is the ICS chip. its the clock generator and if you are running at 160 FSB cool it down! i only used a passive sink, but i know a few ppl have pur active cooling on it, ie hsf of some sort.... but definately cool it down..... cryogen
