| Antec 300 Black Steel Black Mid Tower I'm concerned as to whether or not these components will fit comfortably in the Antec Three Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower. I ordered a Mid instead of a Full because I was under-informed and did not realize the 300 was a mid, and it's already been shipped. I read that the Asus EN9800 GTX+ is quite large (~10 inches). Cooling is also a conern. GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard ASUS EN9800GTX+ DK/HTDI/512M GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB SAMSUNG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale 3.16GHz Antec NeoPower 650 Last edited by SlitherSly; 01-22-2009 at 04:10 PM.. | Re: Antec 300 Black Steel Black Mid Tower I used this in a build for my wife, nice smaller case. Has only a ASUS EN8500 for video. I see others installing GTX 260's in this case ( 10.5 inches ) so you should be ok. You also have options with cooling, 2-120mm front openings and 1 - 120mm on the side. Good luck!

| Re: Antec 300 Black Steel Black Mid Tower Antec Gamer 300 works with GTX260 (10.5"). Wonderful case. If you get two 120mm front fans you don't need the Gamer 900 IMO. |

| Re: Antec 300 Black Steel Black Mid Tower I just bought this case two days ago. I put the Gigabyte EP45-UDP3 mobo, 2X Seagate HD 1 TB each with 32mb cache in RAID-0, 4gig OCZ 8500, 88OOGTX video card, E8400 cpu, OCZ 600watt psu with a blue led 120mm fan, two 120 blue LED fans in front. For the cpu cooler, a Zalman 9700 with blue LED'S. The Antec 300 is one nice case, and easy to work with....Here's a link to the 300 case have a look see Antec - Three Hundred Here also is a review of the case.....Antec 300 Gaming Case Review

| Re: Antec 300 Black Steel Black Mid Tower If you're interested in trying to quiet that case down, there's a thread here: silentpcreview.com | View topic - Antec Three Hundred mini-review and dampening mods They say that the case is very good for airflow, but is a bit loud. |

| Re: Antec 300 Black Steel Black Mid Tower How much noise does it make compared to an Antec Super Lanboy, which I own? Also, I don't plan on keeping the side cover on, and I'm going to strip the Lanboy of it's fans and install them in the 300. The noise is not a huge concern since I always wear a pair of Sennheiser HD555's when playing games or doing work. In jhhoffma's modding guide, he mentioned a low-level frequency. Does it make a sound similar to a CRT monitor? Another concern is the top fan. The Super Lanboy does not have one and my system temps are great. However, this is largely due to Zalman coolers on the CPU and GPU. I read that the Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale (w/stock fan) and ASUS EN9800GTX+(after-market cooler supplied by Asus) run at relatively low temperatures. So I may simply remove the fan or remove the power from that fan. I appreciate all the quality info you guys have given me. Last edited by SlitherSly; 01-25-2009 at 02:44 PM.. |

| Re: Antec 300 Black Steel Black Mid Tower I'm using a Zalmam 9700 CPU cooler in my Antic 300. What I did was turn down all fans including the Zalman. I took the top fan and reversed it. I now have the Zalman pulling in air from the top fan that is also pulling in air. And the slot above the 8800GTX left open for air exit. This gives me less noise along with great air flow. I'm running my E8400 oc'ed @ 3800mhz. Also the side fan hole I've blocked off with a plexiglass window.
