| Corsair Power Supply Configurator Hey guys, we got a power supply configurator up similiar to our memory configurator. If you just want to take a look and give us any feedback that would be appreciated. It does not do a specific wattage rating like some calculators. Tell us what you think. CORSAIR PSU CONFIGURATOR

| Re: Corsair Power Supply Configurator I think it is pretty good. PSU wattage has gotten so out of control, I think people are going to be surprised by the recommendations. |

| Re: Corsair Power Supply Configurator Yeah, some of those actual wattage calculators are out of control IMO.

| Re: Corsair Power Supply Configurator I'd say all the wattage calculators I've stumbled upon were complete and utter poo. If you built cars according to similar estimates they'd have sheet metal over a foot thick and a 2000hp engine.

| Re: Corsair Power Supply Configurator Thats funny as you would need 2000 hp as the car would be heavy as h e l l!

I should have said something like "the equivalent of a moped needing 5000hp" or whatever.

| Re: Corsair Power Supply Configurator Well this calculator hit the nail on the head for me. It recommended the TX750W which is smaller than what I was using. It was easy to install and it worked first time. I'm not easily impressed but this is a good link. Can you sticky this one maybe? |

| Re: Corsair Power Supply Configurator It does seem more realistic than most. Using the rig in my sig I need the VX 450 as a minimum. I'm using a FSP ATX 450-PN. Granted not nearly as good as the Corsair PSU but it does the job just fine.

| Re: Corsair Power Supply Configurator Honestly, considering I work for Corsair, I won't sticky it. If the other mods think it is a valid sticky then that's cool.

| Re: Corsair Power Supply Configurator Much more realistic than others, if you look at my profile you’ll see I have just a 350 Enermax. Its old but it still works no problems. specmike, I see in your profile you use Enermax too and you work for Corsair ![]() |

| Re: Corsair Power Supply Configurator It's amazing how some people think they need a 500+ watt PSU for a system that draws a similar amount of power as the one in my profile. I would have gone with a lower wattage PSU, but Corsair didn't have anything lower that was modular at the time I built my system and they still don't. (C'mon Corsair, an HX380 would be nice!)

| Re: Corsair Power Supply Configurator Agreed, my Enermax 350 is more that capable of power my system and much more. I would go with Enermax again but I am also looking for a new case and Antec has some nice ones, and they have good power supply in case. I am looking at the Sonata Plus 550 with a NeoPower 550watt PSU. |
