| Hey all, Can someone please give me an idea as to what is going on.... I used to use PC probe as a way of keeping a eye on my computer... Now I use Motherboard Monitor 5. Motherboard Monitor 5 is working gr8t but I still am encountering great fluctuations in the fan sometimes and the temperature sometimes also, but the main problem is the voltage reading... They seem to go up and down every couple of minutes. (Not by much mind you)... But still do! It this normal that the reading go up and down like this or what... Please give me some answers because this is really annoying. Thanks in advanced. MSA |

| Thanks for the reply guys... The system seems to be stable though on the pc probe program and MBM 5 the reading seem to be fluctuating alot more than a couple of hundred for the fan, and the voltage reading seems to go well below the normal limit... I'm pretty sure that is not normal? I was wondering whether it would be because of the power supply... I have a power supply of 230W. Should that be enough to run a fairly powerful system... Some of the specs below without going into detail are P-3 intel 866mhz soundblaster live card geforce 2 MX CD burner normal CD rom drive 256mb RAM network card a cpu fan, (obviously) and heatsink and two other power fans just to be on the safe side and to keep the temp down as low as possible. Any suggestions would be appreciated... Thanks.

| Because of the extra fans and the 2 CD drives you may be on the edge. I would consider getting a 300+ Watt. Go ahead and get one that meets the Intel PIV standard so you will have it around a while and it will be compatible for future stuff as well. A good way to tell is if the heat coming out of the P/S fan is hot or you hear your fans slow and speed up from time-to-time.

| When the system is at idle the air coming out from the P/s fan seems to be fairly cool actually... What does this mean? Does it mean it has more power to spare or what??? Just another question has popped up in my head thinking about this stuff... To do with the voltages... For the +5, +12, -12, +3.3 voltages and that stuff should they be that actual number or should they be a little under that or a little over that??? Thanks.
