| Hey Guys, I've been running rock solid on the current build for quite some time now, but now I've got a hardware issue it seems. A while ago I noticed that when I completely power down the rig in my sig, the PWR light on the Asus A8N32 motherboard will blink consistently. The case power button is then unresponsive until I unplug the power supply for a few minutes and retry. Funny thing is, once it's powered back up until I completely power down again, this issue is non-existent. I normally leave the PC on 24/7 so it's been nothing more than a nuisance for the most part. Another issue either related or not that just started happening is that when I leave the system idle for an extended period of time, after returning it will frequently be locked up on the desktop with only the mouse cursor being responsive. At first I thought the lockups might be software related, but I haven't really changed any configurations or added/removed new software recently. This leads me to believe that both issues are either motherboard or more likely PSU related. I've had the OCZ Powerstream 520 for a little over three years, and its just beyond the replacement warranty period. I've been looking at the following replacements. Any other comments or suggestions? Newegg.com - OCZ GameXStream OCZ700GXSSLI 700W ATX12V Power Supply 100 - 240 V - Power Supplies Newegg.com - SeaSonic S12 Energy Plus SS-650HT ATX12V / EPS12V 650W Power Supply 100 - 240 V UL, CE, CB, TUV, FCC - Power Supplies

| Re: possible PSU problem, need replacement suggestions It's hard to tell with these things but sounds more like MB then PSU. A blinking light is supposed to mean standby and unless you are getting crashes during high power demands (gaming etc.) I would check your standby and other power settings before spending on a new PSU you probably don't need. My main board wont standby for nothing (same as yours with an FX-57) so I would make sure that is off.

| Re: possible PSU problem, need replacement suggestions It looks like the Pwr good line is not being properly handled on Power down. I tend to agree with SpeedDM on the PS vs MoBO. The PS is less expensive than a new MB but if you want to do a new build then the PS might be good new investment if it turns out not to be the PS.

| Re: possible PSU problem, need replacement suggestions This issue has been partially resolved. I purchased a new Corsair PSU and installed it last night. Now the PWR light on the motherboard remains green in standby rather than the blinking amber. I suspect that a flaky 5V rail on the OCZ PSU was causing the issue with standby power. I am however still getting lockups when the computer is left idle. This may well be a software issue yet, and I hope to do a clean OS install this weekend.
