Have several APC units at home, and several more at work. One of them is at least 6 years old, replaced the battery a couple of times, but still works.

Re: What size UPS to you use?

The poll allows multiple selections. I'm looking more for what people are using at home, but if you put in ones you use at work it no biggie.

Thanks for your input!

700VA here. It is used for two computers, one of which is normally off.

If both were on, can you install the software on two systems and have them both shutdown in the case of a power failure?

TY!

There is only one USB feed from the UPS to the computer for communication between the two. I don't use the auto shut down. Only the status monitoring. Don't know if the USB signal could be split. If my power outage is for more than 20-30 minutes, then the UPS runs out of battery power and just turns off.

Re: What size UPS to you use?

Yeah, I also have the APC Back-UPS RS 1500VA. It has been a great UPS and I atrribute the excellent line conditioning features to extending the lifespan of my components. It is backing up my main computer and primary monitor, my server, my router, phone adapter and cable modem. It doesn't stay up long when a power outage does occur, but it ensures that I nor anyone else on my network (with battery backup) is interrrupted from a short outage or blip.
