| A64 hangups I was having difficulty keeping my computer from freezing up. I wiped the Hard drive, and it even hung up while running the verification program in the wipe program. I assumed that it was hardware related since the software had been erased. I figured PS might be bad, but I tested it and it seems within limit. Now, if it was my ps, and keep in mind my comp usually froze up after some use, could the problem be intermittant (sp?), or would the tester see it right away when I power up the tester? Also, other than the 20 pin and 4 pin connector, should I test the power cables to my hard drive? Could that cause the constant freezing? HELP!! |

| First off download and run Memtest86 for awhile, if after running memtest, your memory checks out, take a long hard look at your powersupply. I had a lot of trouble with my system, until I pulled out an Antec TrueControl 2 and stuck a Thermaltake Toughpower 700 in. http://www.memtest.org/ The moderators on the ABIT forums have noted and said, that most people complaining of system problems have Antec Powersupplies. Also AMD does not make Conroe, Conroe is an Intel cpu.

As for power supplies, I hear great things about Thermaltake, but was also considering the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750. | |

| I like the Thermaltake Toughpower 700. Another member here, not sure who off hand has the Thermaltake Toughpower 750, and Thermaltake is supposed to be coming out with 1000watt, 1100watt and 1200watt Powersupplies. Thermaltake's new powersupplies were shown off, at I believe it was Cebit this spring.
