AMD Phenom 9600

reading someone else's post last night about their new Phenom system got me thinking...

I want to upgrade my nearly 2 year old system and I was all set to go with one of Intel's new 45nm CPU's (either dual or quad core) but want to know people's opinion/impressions on the Phenom 9600/9700...is it a worthwhile investment?...and yes I know all about the errata bug that is present all these CPU's with the B2 revision

but knowing this I am still tempted to get one because the prices are so cheap...this is a true quad core design and honestly I don't think this errata bug will affect 99.8% of users so I don't think I'll ever run into any issues from it...they also say that performance is on par with Intel's Q6600...I also don't want to spend a fortune on Intel's QX9650 and this also allows me to spend the extra $$$ on the video card or another component...plus I can always get the 9600 now and later on down the road possibly upgrade to the new B3 revision or 45nm chips at the end of the year

the Spider platform really is pretty good architecurtally and definitely has potential

do you think this is a good way to go?

Re: AMD Phenom 9600

Ive been looking at the benchmarks between amd and intel. The intel E6600 is about the same as the amd 9600 or faster. The intel Q6600 looks be a lot faster then anything amd has to offer.

Re: AMD Phenom 9600

Would you recommend it to an Intel user who paid less and had a faster computer than yours more than a year ago?

I have yet changed my mind since posting this, I guess I jumped to conclusions too soon... My AMD Phenom has been having problems with its TLB as i mentioned in my other post and i am returning it and are going back to Intel again. Sorry for any misconceptions...

Nothing to be sorry about its amd that should be sorry for releasing a cpu that has a major bug in it.

Re: AMD Phenom 9600

I was thinking about going the AMD route for similar ($$$) reasons. (My rig is four years old!) But everything I've read says that, bug aside, the Intel CPUs still blow the hell out of the Phenoms. So, I'm still saving...
