Building an HTPC for HD

Hey everyone. Long time no see

I need your help guys.

I want to build an HTPC. I am looking at the 690G chipset, but not exclusively. What is the best solution anyway?

Re: Building an HTPC for HD

Bumpin' this thread.

I've just started playing (seriously) with the HTPC.
I got a DVI -> HDMI cable and got 1080i to the TV. (WOW!!!)
I've still got my setup in my sig, and it runs it ...ok.
I get a little studder in the audio every couple of mins.
Other than that, outstanding!

As for TV viewing, we're stuck with SD on the computer, as (most) cable
companies encrypt the HD signal, requiring their proprietary hardware.

Have you progressed any further with an HTPC for yourself?

As for a system to dedicate to a HTPC, here is my 'possible' setup:
Nmedia HTPC-200BA Desktop Media Centre Case mATX
OCZ Platinum XTC REV.2 PC2-6400 2GB 2X1GB DDR2
ASUS P5E-VM HDMI mATX LGA775 G35
E2200 Dual Core Processor LGA775 2.2GHZ 800FSB 1MB
BTC 9019URF III Wireless Multimedia Keyboard with Dual Mode Joystick Mouse

And possibly this Drive:
LG GGC-H20L BLU-RAY HD-DVD Reader BD-ROM 6X HD DVD-ROM 3X DVD+-RW 16X8X6 DL 4X

All other hardware to make it run is left overs....

Post Greetings from Taiwan!

Hello!
Not much on my mind right now, but it is not important. I have just been letting everything happen without me. I just do not have anything to say right now.
