Angry deferred procedure call maxing single core

well i've been all over the web and have found very little that helps in what i could do to fix this problem.

Recently i noticed that my secondary cpu has been maxed out all the time. When i run taskmanager there are no processes that are maxing out cpu anywhere.

When i run process explorer, i see that i have deferred procedure calls using up 50% non-stop. so... i've searched high and low, for fixes for this and they all seem different.

I did a system restore, and still no luck. I'm about to rip open my pc and start cleaning all the parts to see if that fixes anything.

Any other input or experiences with this would be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

Re: deferred procedure call maxing single core

OK! I cleaned the memory connectors and took out the cpu and reseated it. I blew in the memory slots and in the cpu socket. And guess what.

No more second core maxed from deferred procedure calls!

that is so strange. I've been using pc's for as long as i can remember since like i was 13 back when it was a dec rainbow, and i've never run into this problem before.

Oh well, live and learn right!
