funny I have an old pioneer DVR-104 never caused me any trouble. guess it's just one of those things

Those drives had more than 1 firmware update out for them. Perhaps that might help.

Well just to update got a new shuttle dvd writer no issue with that ..windows is all up and running ...thats the good news bad news ...

Elder scrolls oblivion
Need for speed most wanted
Tomb Raider Legends

Shudder and jerk all over the place .. seems like nvidia 7900's are a v poor combo with this board ???!??
Unreal Tournamnet 2004
and lord of the rings-BfmE 2 seem ok..

read that there was an issue with tomb raider that nvidai admitted tried installing suggested drivers which some (3-4 people) claimed to fix the issue...well not for me.

I tried setting NFS most wanted to doom like video settings and still get jerking though reduced...
