| Because Intel is hot and AMD's not... Right now, that's the truth.

| Yep used to be the apposite before C2D. Once the Intel forum went a week without a post. |

| Yeah though the Conroe thread was very busy long before it was actually released. How many years did AMD keep the crown? Quite a few I think.

| So Intel processors are the way to go at this point? I've been out of the loop for a while, and am thinking of upgrading my computer. I've been loyal to AMD for almost a decade now, is it time to switch?

| Yep. Not only much faster, but much cheaper then the AMD counterparts though they have come down a bit too to try to compete. I would look at the Core 2 Duo E6600. It's first in the line to have the 4mb cache.

| That processor is slightly too expensive for me. However the E6320 also has a 4mb cache for $165 on NewEgg.

| Barcelona will probably be a similar letdown to R600, might be on par with Conroe but with much less overclock potential and Intel will already have Penryn by then.
