Hi hellfish. 9x is the max multi that chip has, if you need a higher multi you will have to purchase a chip with a higher multi.

you can't use a higher multiplier (only FX and Intel EE have unlocked multipliers ), only thing you can do is to up the FSB , lower the multiplier and use a ram divider to get a higher OC if that's what you are trying to ask.

With some chips it is possible to "hotwire" it by connecting 2 of the pins on the processor itself to unlock the multiplier. I did that with my AMD+3000XP and it actually worked. Tricky though. Only 9X? seems awful low. Here I found this on the sempron. this if for a +2300 but will probably work on yours. BE CAREFUL and do some research first. You need a VIA chipset which I think your board has.

mm I think getting the heatspreader off will be a no go for most members. Thing is I don't get it with the more stable part of his question.
Why would it be more stable when he uses eg an 18 multiplier with 100mhz fsb

18X with 100mhz FSB? Wouldn't that equal to about the same? Should be at it's most stable right around stock. I don't know I am more into the lower multi and higher FSB of course, if I bother to OC at all. Your right though probably a bit advanced and it would be easy to damage the chip modding it like that. So your advice was probably more sound. Just pointing out that it is possible.

Well I wanted to point out to hellfish why should it be more stable with a higher FSB and a higher multiplier ? ( and in my example of 18 x100 ) I just don't get his statement or question, it fascinates me in a sort of way ...
