Overclocking 4000+ E4 /w ASUS AIBooster

Yeah, I've read all the guides to overclocking and I have all the tools... but, I have an A8N32 Deluxe and AIBooster came with this. I thought I would give it a chance and check it out on my AMD 4000+ San Diego.

So far, I'm running perfectly stable at 2.6Ghz on complete presets in the program. I have everything set to "Auto" and overclocked it 8%. It basically bumped up my Core Voltages to 1.52v and my FSB to 216mhz.

I have OCZ Platinum (and Gold--two sticks of each for 2gb total).

I'm also on Stock cooling with some Arctic Silver 5 on the core. Everything is running perfectly fine and stable. My temps are great, ranging from 32c to 40c depending on the temperature in my room.

Has anyone else had any experience with AIBooster? How well does it work? Should I be using it or just learn everything the hard way? I don't have a lot of money so I can't be experimenting. :/ But, I'm just looking to get your opinions on this because I'm a total n00b to overclocking.

I was also wondering if it would be ok to run my cpu at this clock speed regularly? I mean, it's been on this for a few days no and no lock ups or glitches. Am I shortening the life span of the chip? Should I just be content with the regular 4000+ speed? I kind of like the Fx55 feel. lol

This is just my experience.

Hey El Wiseguy I have the asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe and AI booster installed. I tried the AI Booster before attempting an all out overclock on my +3200 X2 and did not find it to effective. I just used the standard BIOS overclocking methods. I changed my FSB, HTT multiplier and increased the V-Core in the BIOS and achieved an overclock of 2.7GHZ on a +3800X2 runs perfectly no flaws current up time 3weeks with reasonable temperatures. In the future i may try to push the CPU to 2.8GHZ if i buy a liquid cooling system. Overall the AI booster may work for minor overclocks but i perfer the BIOS good luck with your overclock!

Hey man, thanks for the response.

Yeah, it works alright. It's been steady at 2.6ghz. But I've found I don't need to overclock and have tuned everything down to normal.

But, for some reason everytime I open AI Booster it still says my vcore is at 1.52 and I want to put it back to its stock 1.44. My PC Probe also says it's at 1.52 while CPUz says it's running at 1.45. ***?

Can anyone tell me how to get this back to normal and what is normal now!?!?!? Thanks!
