| Overclocking the PCIe bus----advantages??? I'm building a new rig and one of the options in the BIOS is to overclock the PCI express bus abobe it's default of 100 In the old days----you locked the PCI bus at 33/66 And before now----I've always locked the PCIe buss at 100 (or left it to default of 100) Why would I want to overclock the PCIe bus and what advantages does it give me???

| Re: Overclocking the PCIe bus----advantages??? For I/O controllers that can handle the overclock it can make it transmit data faster. The same essentially applies to other things that you can plug into the PCIe bus, even video cards and network cards. Personally, I don't like overclocking the PCIe bus, especially for I/O controllers as you risk data corruption as most devices on the PCIe bus don't like to be overclocked.
