I'm curious; how do you verify this? With nTune? Then there must be some kind of dependency that causes the multiplier not to stick. With the earlier BIOS versions I had no problem with this, so I assumed that the ASUS developers had broken something and I'm eagerly awaiting a new version.

I don't like ntune - we don't get on! I use AIbooster. Heres a screenshot, I've altered nothing, just booted up.

switched from forceware 66.93 to 71.24 and I have to say the difference is like night and day. I got 2000 more 3dmarks in 3dmark01 for a total of 27,731 with NO OVERCLOCKING AT ALL!!!

I also noticed an extrordinary difference in the colors in Half Life 2. Unbelievable!! Give it a try! I downloaded it from guru3d dot com.

Works fine @ my current overclock for me.

Haven't tested whether it gives me more headroom yet ...

Does anyone know whether a setting for changing the Memory Divider is something standard on most boards?

This board is my first real overclocking experience, and I am really hoping to be able to manually set the memory divider at some point in the life of this board.

My Crucial Ballistix continues to cause errors in SuperPI when set over 235 with 3,4,3,10 1T Timings and 2.8 volts.

Oh, btw, there's about 100 K8N-SLI Boards by MSI on ebay right now, if you're willing to shell out about $330 USD and wait for shipping from Britain.

Most boards have memory dividers, though I can tell you from personal experience that you're better off running synchronous most of the time on A64 systems. One of the keys is maximizing bandwidth and that's often hard to do when the CPU and memory are running async. Here's a Chart. Terms like 1:1, 5:4, etc. are actually misnomers for A64 systems, though some motherboard makers use them in the BIOS's.

Unfortunately, with the way my RAM is performing I am unable to fully overclock my CPU. I can pull off about 235x9 with the RAM but giving 2115 on the CPU, but the CPU is capable of around 2500.

I guess the best answer would be better RAM but having just picked up a GB of this stuff, that's not happening for me any time soon. So, the next best thing for me would be to use a memory divider, to get my max CPU.

The A8N-SLI seems to automatically apply some type of a divider to the RAM when you just straight out overclock the HTT from within the BIOS, though I am not sure how it comes up with the number to use. It seriously underclocks my RAM when it does this.

I've found that if I set the DDR speed to 400 in the CPU config, and then go set voltages in the Jumper Free config - but do not change the FSB Frequency Speed - and then start up and use AI Booster to push the frequency up, I can reboot and adjust the frequency as I please without any memory divider coming into play.

On many boards, if you have Memclock set to auto, the dividers will be automatically adjusted for you.

Anyone else had any issues with Maxtor drives and this board? I have a 120GB SATA Maxtor (6Y120M0) hooked up standalone on NV SATA3, and it keeps disappearing and generally makes my system very unstable (cold boot issues, Windows very unstable). Is this a problem for anyone else?

hi, i'm having the exact same issue withthe same hdd model. I have two of those 120gb maxtors sata whch i can't use

gonna try wd and hitachi tomorrow

I couldn't use the NV SATA/Raid with two WD Raptor 74s. It saw the drives as 69gb and I couldn't install windows due to stop errors. The Silicon Image raid controller works in Raid 0 but I would rather have the native controller working. The bios, 1002, would see my sata drives sometimes and then it wouldn't. The bios 1003 is consistant, it doesn't see them, ever. Sometimes it lets me select my dvdrom when I'm setting boot priorities and sometimes that choice vanishes but, luckily, the cd-rom option is there and works instead.

Asus A8N-SLI CPU FAN Monitoring

Does anyone know how to disable Asus A8N-SLI CPU FAN Monitoring? I'm planning to water cool my system and found out that you get an error message at boot if you don't have a CPU fan connected. I looked at the BIOS but didn't find anything.
