Current 40mm 5000rpm cans only give something like 15cfm's hardly anything at all. And not worth the noise.

The fan on my MSI K7N-ILSR NB is also very noisy. I believe most NB fans are and the PC is in my bedroom so I want a quiet PC. If ASUS have decided not to put a fan on the chipset, the mobo should be stable. I will of course wait for reviews to check this.

That was a good review, seems that Asus is really trying to get this board out before Christmas (would make lots of money) sounds like retail is $180 usd, the only thing the review was with only one video card (ati), hopefuly he'll come out with a new review in a couple of days with 2 cards (I think that's when some of problems Asus boards show up ), good reading anyway...

If you mean performance wise I don't think so but if you mean price wise I'm sure it will get better, if you go to buy a 6800gt pci-express ( if you can find one ) its gouing to cost about $75 to $100 more than a agp 6800gt for the same performance, hopes this helps.....

Ok....yet again i have more questions but I guess this is the place to ask em huh? Well my first question is about video cards....I know that some people like NVidia and some like ATI me personaly I like ATI I'm not sure why I do but thats all the cards I've had. I've been told that some people pick NVidia because the drivers are easier to use and install but Ive never had any problems installing ATI drivers....but I was wondering if it was speed or rendering capabilities or w/e that people picked NVidia over ATI. Only reason I ask is that Im considering switching to NVidia for SLI but im not sure what to do.....And my other question is about motherboards I was wondering about all the different mobos coming out which one is the best? I know theres an Abit mobo thats really nice heres the link for that http://www.abit-usa.com/products/mb/...es=1&model=243 and theres a MSI mobo http://www.msi.com.tw/program/produc...il.php?UID=637 heres another MSI board and on this 1 it says it uses the ATI chipset what does that mean exactly or does it mean exactly what it says? lol http://www.msi.com.tw/program/produc...il.php?UID=639 also a gigabyte board http://www.cdrinfo.com/Forum/tm.asp?...mpage=1&#87638 well u get my point. I was thinking of getting the Abit board but I've heard stories about how the via chipset has probs w/ drivers and other stuff anyways sorry for the long post thanks for all yalls help.

It's hard to say at this point which motherboard will be the best because many of the boards haven't even been reviewed yet. I can tell you what you're likely to see, based on my past experience.

The Asus board will probably be solid, though not necessarily the fastest. The MSI and Gigabyte boards will probably be fast, but a little quirky. The DFI mobo will likely be very fast, though DFI quality control is sometimes hit and miss. Abit is not the company it once was, IMO. The engineer who helped put Abit on the enthusiasts map now works for DFI.

Only a handful of boards will be released this month. More will come out in January.

The other problem you will face is video cards. They will be very expensive and likely hard to find. Even if you build it yourself, an SLI system with 6800 Ultra cards will probably cost $3500-4000. Probably closer to 4K.

ATI does not have any cards that are SLI-capable right now. An SLI setup requires a special bridge connector which only Nvidia has at the moment. ATI is expected to have SLI-capable cards next year. For now, you'll be able to use a single ATI PCI-E card in an SLI board.

Tom's Hardware Guide even showed how you can run ATI & Nvidia cards side by side.

I don't think anyone except ATI knows the answer to that right now. My guess is that they will try to make their cards compatible with NF4-SLI. Why? Because it makes financial sense. And remember, just because a board uses an Nvidia chipset doesn't mean you can't use an ATI card with it. Also keep in mind that ATI's SLI solution probably won't come out until the second quarter of next year, at the earliest.
