Make sure the cards are "SLI Ready", otherwise you may have to do a BIOS flash to make them work in SLI mode.

Hehe - I RMAd 2 cards, because the retailer took the SLI logo off of there website after I had purchased. These ones are certified, There is even mention of it on the box. The package is a little disappointing, they haven't changed the bundled software from the AGP version, so I now have 3 copies of everything! Sorry off topic!

I know I saw that last night, I just talked to Will yesterday at Monarch and told him about Zipzoom's price and he thought that there price would be about $250, I guess there's a lot of interest, about 15 calls a day, but I;m not going to pay $325 no matter now bad I want it, has you know you can't get any video cards any ways.

someone mentioned that there was a non sli version of this board i was wondering if someone could give me a link because its not listed on their main site. i have recently changed my mind on the whole sli issue because the lack of video cards and their heat issues w/2 combined and just the overall price isnt really worth it

They are very "shy" on the non-SLI version, I imagine because they want first to catch those impatient users waiting for way too long for a 939/PCI-E solution, so ready to buy SLI when they don't really need it. Let's remember Gigabyte is expected to come within a week with a non-SLI clever version!
Not much difference btw between SLI and non-SLi in term of price.

The biggest issue (along with specific SLI bugs to be expected..) is this NF4 passive cooling on the non-SLI version avoiding extra noise but still has to be seen but on a picture!
Any info on this issue would be much valuable, otherwise stepping in the SLI version is just fine even if you plan to use only one GC.

I'm very surprised...

Just a quick observation...there are several vendors who have already shipped the A8N-SLI Deluxe, I thought this would be the site to find current information on this mobo. There are several real world reviews/experiences with this mobo...couple things to keep in mind...
1). DO NOT SKIMP ON THE PSU!
you can get by for now with a smaller psu, however you'll regret it later when you upgrade to a GT 6800 ultra in sli mode.
2). These mobos are shipped set to sli mode, don't change the setting even if you're using only a one card set-up.
3). koolance has a water cooling set-up that does work with this set-up.(Koolance Exos Liquid Cooling Sys Model "EXT-A04")

PSU...Turbo-Cool 510 ATX Deluxe (38 amps) it's not listed on their site, you have to call them by phone if you want to order it. Has 24 pin connector.
Antec 550 true control( working ok, no problems noted..yet) Has 20 pin connector.
OCZ PowerStream 520W. Has 24 pin connector.

2 problems noted...one person had a problem using the included asus ock'ing
software included with the mobo. Another may have recieved a bad mobo, possible killed two optical drives(jury is still out on this one, although it looks like the mobo.)
Best price found so far for the A8N-SLI Deluxe is $190 usd. Others have bought the mobo for $201 and have recieved them already. Both places now have them back-ordered.If you back order this mobo, know that prices may change, for better or worse. If the price is more then what you pre-ordered it for you will be notified before charged, and if it's a reputable vendor you won't be charged until it ships. If you can wait till after the New Year you'll more then likely get the board for closer to msrp...$200-$230. I know everyones been waiting like forever for this mobo, but just a little more patients and you'll not only save alot of money but most of the bugs will be addressed/fixed.
DFI seems to be working on a different solution to SLI, whether or not it will be faster or not is left to be seen. DFI has been in the past very oc'ing friendly...just hang in there a bit longer.
Buy.Com $186.99

Hows SLI for me so far?

System specs.

Asus A8N - SLI
Amd 3500+ 90nm
2XLeadtek 6800GT Pci-e (not available now!)

Well, I've had this board installed for 24hours now! So how is it you ask?
How go the benchmarks? Overclocking? Enough to say oh dear! Asus seem to have
let an unfinished product out of the door again!Doh!

Set up was a nightmare, I no longer have a RAID array due to it not liking my
USB FDD, and no I didn't back anything up before reinstalling, thank you very
much for asking! Until today I was having to use a 'live' linux CD to use the computer at all!

Changing most of the settings in the bios results in the system hanging on reboot,
with the only option being to reset the RTC, which you can hardly get to due to 2X2 graphichs
cards in the way! I've tried 3 different bioses, including the latest beta, all with the same
result. This happens when you try to disable the PEG link, when you enable fan control(!),
when you set overclocking to *standard*, I could go on - there are some parts that work, but
after pulling the battery out 6 times I'm fed up of exploring!

So, you can boot at default settings so hows you 3dmark score? Urrrr, haven't got one yet!
Hangs part way through the first test on 03, and on the second test 05 (Return does manage about
50fps). I've tried 2 sets of drivers so far 67.20 and 67.22. Same results with both! Tried to
overclock the GPU and mem a little bit.. wouldn't have it, though after a bit of rewiring it
O/Ced to 375/1040 - which is very poor, I'm sure you'll admit!

Well, thats enough of a downer for now! I'm still glad I got into the game early, hehe -the
voyage into the unknown huh?

Anyone got anything to say? I have a 'spare' board arriving 12/20, but unsure whether to waste
my time trying it! RMA? Still, at least I can use my £120 MB, and £600 of graphics cards
to 'surf the net'

Sorry to hear about your problems, Glorfy. Perhaps it's just a bad board? Another member didn't seem to have any problems.

Sorry! Updated siggy now! It's got 1x18a +12v rail, an d 1x15a +12v rail. Which should be plenty - ish. If it isn't it, it doesn't help me with buggy bioses though! Maybe its a bad board, and I should try the new one Monday - I'm not the only one though - link
