So which RAID controller would be preferred on the premium board. The nVIDIA one or the silicon image one? I currently have it setup on the sillicon controller but wonder if it the possible cause of all my problems?

U don't need to configure anything for the 3rd drive.
Have in mind that when u install winxp (using the F6 method) u'll have to install both drivers seen on the selection screen.

I'll allways prefer the southbridge raid solution (since the first days of Intel's ICH5R). So i would advise u to use the nvidia controller.I don't like to be limited by pci bus. However it doesn't mean that the sil image is the reason for your probs. My advise is just based on what's better solution fr a raid 0 setup.

Hey guys. I am considering purchasing this board in the next few days to compliment my FX-55 CPU, but I have a question regarding memory. The manual states this board will only accept up to DDR-400 RAM. How is it I see some of you guys running DDR-500 memory in this board?

DDR 500 or higher is backwards compatible with DDR400.

I understand u. With all this power in your system it's normal not to pay so much attention to this...

Is that to say then, that though DDR-500 will work in this board, it will only operate at DDR-400 speed?

Thanks!

DDR 500 is really for overclocking. The speed your memory runs is determined by your HTT(FSB) speed, which is 200 by default, which in turn is DDR400 (200x2) When you overclock your HTT, you memory speed increases. So, if you are able to run your system at say HTT 225, your memory would be 225x2, DDR 450. So, in the case above, your DDR 500 memory would do fine, and run at DDR450. There is more to it than this brief explaination, but in a nutshell, that's it. If you are not going to overclock, DDR 500 is overkill and not needed. Spend the money instead on either more memory or low latency DDR 400.

In bios: Advanced/Jumper free PCI Clock sync... set this to auto. if it is set to auto now, change it to 33. This should lock the PCI bus. According to your ntunr pic, yours is set to: To CPU
