Maybe, but reading through his thread a number of things stand out.

1) He's using 6600GTs not 6800s
2) It looks like bap4201 hasn't made any changes in the bios as yet, and if I hadn't made any I wouldn't have a problem either! If I am incorrect bap4201 - please correct me

Hmmm, just noticed something while looking at a review. VCore only goes up to 1.65v. That's not good. Hopefully a BIOS update will allow for higher voltage. VDimm goes up to 3.0v which is good.

On your 6800gt's did it say on your box "SLI ready",I think we might have talked about this on another thread, but if your video cards don't have the right bios then you will have notheing but problems, and I don't know if Nvida has put out the video bios to update older pci-express cards?

Yes we've already had that conversatiion The cards are recognised, and working in SLI mode.

BTW - I've just noticed something else - excuse the capital letters, but I'm a bit emotional at the moment- OY ASUS - WHERES MY PCI-E LOCK?!

Yes that's right - no lock option in the bios - do I hear A8V revision 1.03 all over again? Yes I was a Guinea pig before and it looks like I am again.

It does appear there are a lot of questions about whether board has a PCI lock.

http://xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?t=48038

A few people are having trouble getting beyond 240. Though one guy in Singapore can run as high as 320.

I can see how you can get hooked on overclocking that is one heck of a set up on vrforums, 12000 plus on 3Dmark 05, -101 on cpu and -55 on 1 video card and -95 on the other.....

Shamino is a good guy. Very talented bencher. And he builds his own coolers. He says maximum measured VCore using a multimeter was only 1.6v which sucks. And apparently there's no easy way to do a voltage mod. I suspect the board has over-voltage protection, though I'm not sure.

Those scores should be even better if Shamino ever gets a FX55, will the DFI board have enough room between the video card's to run a setup like Shamino's?

An FX-55 would make a difference in his 01 and 03 scores. Probably wouldn't have as much of an impact on 3DMark05. His 3DMark01 score was not that impressive and even he admits that. 3DMark01 requires a lot of CPU power.

I'm sure there would be enough clearance to run the same setup on the DFI board.

Do you think you will get a DFI board when they come out...

Don't know. I was a guinea pig when 939 first came out. Gonna wait for the smoke to clear this time around.

I'm sure the DFI board will have plenty of overclocking options in the BIOS. It's become a DFI trademark. But I think some people over-tweak their systems. For me, it all boils down to a handful of things. Does the board have a working lock and good voltage options? And how high can I clock memory and the CPU? So far, I haven't seen any monster overclocks with the Asus board. But it's still early. Plenty of boards have yet to be released.

The PCI-E bus on this board is not connected to the FSB, so no locks are necessary.
In the jumper free section of the bios, you will see a setting for PCI clock 100mhz (default)
You can set the PCI clock independently from the FSB. On my rig my FSB is 282mhz and my PCI clock remains @ 100mhz. Better than locks, you can o/c your PCI bus independently. :wave2:

Yes, but your HDD's are not connected to the PCI-E bus. Am I correct? In addition to the PCI Express interface, there is also a PCI-to-PCI bridge running at 33MHz.
