And when you enter Ntune is says that you need to lock the PCI-e bus, otherwise it will track FSB - its words not mine! I've just had to reset the RTC again. This time had the system running 6 hours, rebooted, and it hung at the 'press DEL to enter setup' screen. After resetting the RTC, went into bios, and its showing the CPU as set to 5005Mhz - I wish! Hmm, very strange.

A8N-SLI Deluxe

Hi all, been a while since I've posted! Decided to build a new PC and am going with the A8N-SLI Deluxe when it's finally available here in the UK. What would be the best memory to go for for this board?

Top be honest I'm still a bit shady on this subject - would the GeIL Ultra Platinum PC4400 be compatable? If not - which would you recommend? Corsair?

Many thanks,

Steve.

Asus has a recommend list of memory on their website specifically for the A8N that has been tested for use w/ mobo. Go to the page for A8N mobo and look toward the bottom. There is a symbol you can click on, I think it says QVL (qualified vendor listing?)

However, that is not to say that others will not work! I'm using ocz rev2 and it works great and is NOT on the list!

What revision is your board? Look next to the SLI card, mine says rev 1.02. :wave2:

PS: I have not even begun to oc this board. I'm still testing to make sure everything else runs fine for a week or so! And so far....IT HAS!

Hmmm, this board seems to suck. Sorry, but I'm not seeing the advantage here.

Sorry but why did you do that? Couldn't you have just changed the title? You're going to have 1 thread only for this motherboard?! I don't want to be sifting through pages of messages to find the reply to my thread!! :confuse2:

Because it confuses people when there are multiple threads with the same title. Your question (memory modules) is fairly general. All you have to do is click on "last page", if you don't want to wade through the other posts.

AMDZone has a review of the A8N-SLI. The interesting thing is that the reference NF4 Ultra board used for comparison purposes was actually a shade faster in some of the non-3D tests. Link

There is a 510 SLI model. Not sure if that's what you're talking about. Expensive. Costs almost as my Turbo-Cool with external pots.
