| Interesting... http://www.frostytech.com/articlevie...id=1962&page=1 The stock Athlon X2 heatsink can out perform just about any 939/AM2 heatsink...So long as you don't mind 60dB fans...

| That is interesting. I haven't even opened the box of my OEM AM2 heatsink, since I ordered the Zalman AM2 along with the CPU. I thought I had some really low temps at 22-24 when idle but it looks like the OEM gives a low of 17 degrees. That's incredible with the stock heatsink. That's the lowest temp for all the tested heatsinks, although it does spin louder than the Zalman, 53 to 63dba. The temps they have for the Zalman are right on line with what mine reports.

| AM2 EE chips now avail. Get em at ncix in Canada or USA, cost around $40 more than regular w chip. 3800+, 4200+, 4600+ all avail, no 5000+ yet.

| AnandTech took a look at AMD's new 65nm CPUs... AnandTech: AMD's 65nm Brisbane Core Previewed: The most energy efficient AMD CPU to date AnandTech: AMD's 65nm Preview Part 2 - The Plot Thickens (Updated with Information from AMD) They are AMD's most energy efficient CPUs to date but they have 66% higher cache latency. As a result, they have slightly lower overall performance when compared to 90nm Athlon 64's of the same clockspeed.
