running the A8N32 now bye bye crappy DFI!!!!

my 2nd DFI was so flaky it wouldn't even post at stock speeds 60% of the time. i am memtesting 250x9 on the A8N32, no issues so far. if i even tried 201x10 on the DFI it wouldn't boot and clearing CMOS didn't help either.

I have the board sitting unwrapped at my house as well...only I won't be able to install it until I get back home from my Thanksgiving holiday trip...

in regard to the best BIOS for this board...I heard that 0502 sucks...a lot of people recommend 0703...but ABX member lowdog, who also has this board, recommends the Beta BIOS 0805

Board is stable with rock solid Vcore at stock setting with an X2 4800 and 1 7800GTX 512meg card atm. Getting a second 7800GTX 512meg in a couple of weeks.

yeah...I'll let FB do all the dirty work and test out all the settings to determine the optimal ones lol...nah just kidding...thats part of the fun of setting up a new motherboard---determing what works and what doesn't along with tweaking everything to get a few more points out of 3DMark

Happy Thanksgiving to you too fvbounty

it's also interesting to me that now that this new A8N32 board is out a lot of former DFI fans are complaing on forums all over the net about how they no longer like the DFI boards are and are making the switch over to the new ASUS board....

next thing you know Sierra will jump on the A8N32 bandwagon...

I'm really glad I made the choice to go with the A8N32 board over the DFI Expert board...there are a ton of bad experiences I have been reading about in different forums all over the net from those with DFI boards of all kinds (and these are from DFI fan boys themselves)...seems like DFI and RMA go hand in hand

i had a DFI board and it went fine for a long time, they in 2 weeks, 2 of them died! Now it is jsut a liability to me. I will NEVER EVER EVER buy another non-asus board again. I had some bad experiences, and i am not looking to repeat them. Every asus board i have had has been of superior quality. I have had MSI, DFI and ABit and ALL ended up being sold off cheap, returned or dead.

My A8N-E is leaving me in a part of a deal with a friend

no different memory to try, i will be memtesting each stick individually now. even though both memtested to 30 passes in my other board. maybe 1.325vcore is too low on this one at 2000mhz. i will try that first
