least I can now view my BIOS post if I choose to...I guess I shouldn't be complaining that it goes by so fast as most people would love to get faster boot-ups

You may want to Google as I am not certain but, I "think" I heard that you will see that display when using hot swappable HDs. Or, mebbe a bad synapse just fired.

Mike.

I'm using the nForce4 AMD/Intel X16 6.85 drivers...should I use the Nvidia IDE driver or MS driver?...I have a Maxtor SATA-1 hard drive and heard there might be issues with the 2...

I'm currently using the MS IDE driver and I don't see the option to enable/disable NCQ...when using the nvidia IDE driver I was able to do this...anyone know where this option is?

I'd suggest the MS driver.

I had file corruption issues due both the Nvidia driver and the Nvidia firewall. Disabled both and things are rock-solid.

(I'm successfully running the Corsair 3500LLPro memory, too, for whoever was having problems earlier and wondered if that could be the culprit.)

if you have an XP Service Pack 2 CD then this step is no longer necessary correct?...I hear the SP2 CD comes with these drivers eliminating the need for the F6 install...right?

You still need to install the from a floppy if you're using RAID. I slipstream all MS updates into my SP2 XP CD and I still need to do the F6 floppy option for the XP install to recognize the array. Vista is suppose to simplify this procedure.

I googled it and found some stuff about how it was normal for using nVidia drivers etc. etc.

I'd have to say yes. I've had some problems, this being my first build, but none because of this board. There was some issues for OC'ers, but they seem to have been fixed with the latest bios.

Probably the biggest problem is layout for those taking advantage of SLI with big fat V cards.

One problem I've had that probably isn't related to the board, but then I don't really know, Is with AVG (free anti-virus). I've tried to use it 3 times now, and every time I do I end up having to reinstall my OS to get rid of an astounding array of problems. Without it, no problemos mi amigo!

You are just switching mobo now? How late of you to do that?! (Hehhheheh...J/K). I did away with mine like last April or May. How long have you had your current DFI mobo? When I still owed a DFI (same model as yours), I went like two months with it without having a stable system running. I finally had to sell it due to all those memory timings that I could never get them to work. Settled on my current mobo (see sig.) and have never looked back (once) since then. Granted, my mobo isn't what this thread is about, but hey, I heard many reports that the 32 works really well. If I were you, though, I would go for the MSI Diamond Plus. Don't take my words for it. Go and read user posts and reviews and decide for it yourself.
