just because it reads lower, doesnt mean that is lower. There is a good chance they just changed to to make it more marketing friendly!

thats why i said "reported 5 degrees lower".

i'm a syntax nazi but i shouldnt expect you to know that.

i should have also mentioned that i now get the same CPU temps i had with my a8n sli.

i think the CPU temp thing was a correction to the sensor sensitivity.

i still have some crack/pop with my XFI but less severe and it goes away the longer i play bf2.

overall:

2 thumbs up.

faster HD performance in raid.
better XFI compatibility.

so far, no negatives to report.

I too place an importance on grammar and diction, however I made that post because most users have a habit of assuming that because their temperature monitoring application is reporting a lower number, that the chip must be operating at a lower temperature. I know it might be strange, but I am a competent enough reader to know the difference between reporting and being, I was however, trying to bring to other's attention that your very vague usage of the word 'reported' and its lack of clarification in your syntactically superior post was in fact that it was reporting the wrong temperature, not lowering the actual temperature. It is good news that X-Fi compatibility has improved since I have one, and I too have had occasional problems with crackling and popping. How much did it improve your situation?

Donster, search this thread and the AMD section for "ACPI". Some others had that issue and I think they listed a solution but, I can't remember exactly where.

Mike .

No not the onboard sound guys, thats crap ! i use an audigy 2 - it seems like ive fixed the issue, i went back to bios 1103 and its gone, i have a feeling this is to do with the midiport ... on bios 1103 i can disable all un needed stuff except the gameport and the PC is rock solid, but on bios 1205 and 1302 i have to keep the gameport and midiport enabled for a the pc to even beable to boot .... its very odd.

I've got the same problem. The only way for me to fix it was a 'raidless' insatallation.
If raid is enabled XP SP2 won't install.

Hey Ryan, did you fix it with BIOS 1103 ???
Or with use of SP1 ???

1205 and 1302 both won't work.
I use 2 WD1600JD. Is this the problem maybe

I have to get rid of this board...where's the AXE....
