Did you unplug the power from the board when you removed the battery?

guys, i think i found the source of my issues.
went to a head shrinker the other day. they told me i am crazy for believing. i was like no! it has to come back. well he talked me into believing i can fly and tomorrow i plan to start making my own wings. i am thinking of building them out of wax and feathers, then i will get out the vacuum and clean my apartment because i can only imagine how much of a mess that will make, when the cat gets kitty litter all over the place, usually happens after hanging pictures on the wall, it is the most amazing thing to see a squirrel running across a power line, and then slipping on ice. ouch that makes me feel like a million bucks. rule 4 keep your eye on your opponent, airplane might just catch on fire. i need more ink for my printer, because yucca plants are so cool. dicata boelcke sounds like a good read, i should pick up my sister, i forgot her at the bus stop

Sounds like the Floppy is searching for a BIOS to restore. Did you save a copy of the original BIOS before you flashed ?

Every Asus board I've had with the AI stuff, looks to recover from the floppy or the CD ROM.

I can hose a Flash with my P4C800 Deluxe and all I have to do is incert the CD that came with the board reboot and it automaticly recovers.

Not so sure if any of that would apply after the power was turned off.

Well I'm off to set up my A8N32 and see if it's keeper or not

I don't know about the A8N32 board...normally ASUS stores a copy of the original BIOS on their CD, like with my P4C800-E Deluxe board...I'm sure the A8N32 does the same but I was speaking more in general terms

I was not given the option to save old original bios before flashing. Leaving the ASUS CD in drive does not work. I read the owners manual and this problem is in there with something called ASUS Crashfree BIOS 2 Utility that IMO does not work AT ALL.
I do now remember playing with the NOS setting for 3% before flashing. The NOS setting said I had to reboot, but I didn't then I flashed. Could my processor be fried? Video card fried (since monitor wont come out of standby)?

In the directions about CrashFree2 and the recovering the BIOS from the Support CD. I would guess the support CD is the only CD that came with the motherboard. Why can't ASUS be open today?
It also has the option to insert the floppy.

Don't update the BIOS in Windows. This the first and last time I will ever do that.

The only board I ever updated in windows was my DFI worked great every time. I never have tried it with any Asus board though.

You should never update BIOS with any OC options. Always update BIOS on any board only after loading optimized defaults from the BIOS, reboot then flash. Takes out a lot of the Murphy's LAW stuff.

Have you tried downloading the shipping BIOS extracting it to floppy? You might give that a try.

I did almost the exact same thing as you.
Asus update to go from the 0502 bios to the 0805, reboot and checksum errors.
I get the display telling me to insert a cd/floppy, however the support CDs original bios will produce the same error once it has installed, as will any other bios versions for this board. Just typical !! Only had this motherboard for a week!!!!
Pitty it doesnt have the Dual Bios setup like Gigabyte Any ideas people ?
I think im screwed....
