Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe thread

the latest motherboard from Asus is finally hitting retail shelves after a lengthy delay...apparantly there were a few problems with the 1.01 revision board that caused the delay in availability in stores....according to Asus the "slight issue" has now been fixed with Revision 2.0

And just to set the records straight. All of the above quote is BS!

Rev 1.01 is the ONLY board in production and the only board shipping. There is NO rev 2.0 board at all.

yes apparently someone spotted a picture of a Revision 2 board on the X-Bit Labs website with the caption "Two ASUS EN7800 GT Dual graphics cards on ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe Revision 2 mainboard" and ran with a false story about a Revision 2.0 board...a lot of sites picked up on this and this rumour started spreading...I'll be getting my board next week and will check the Revision but as of right now it looks like 1.01 might be the only version out...

attached is a pic from the X-bit Labs article that started all the fuss...

I have this board and it's a rev 1.01. A lot of people are receiving this board atm and all are rev 1.01.

I advise to run the fan unit that comes with the mobo on the copper radiator for the heatpipe even if you are using a regular heatsink/fan on the cpu. This helps keep the mobo temp down.

I'd also flash straight to beta bios 805 as this seems a better bios than the official 703.

Board is stable with rock solid Vcore at stock setting with an X2 4800 and 1 7800GTX 512meg card atm. Getting a second 7800GTX 512meg in a couple of weeks.

thanks for the tip on the fan...I'll do that

I read that some people were hesitating to flash to the 805 BIOS because of something in the ReadMe about it lowering your FSB at full load or something similar to that

Sounds like more conjecture to me. There is no readme for the 805 bios as it's still beta.

Edit: Nah that BS, just tested it. Ran cpuz and dual instances of prime95 and fsb stays at 200MHz. So it's nothing to worry about. Wonder where all this crap comes from.

you plan on having PCi cards in there and if so have you considered the space issue ?

I'm planning on having 1 GTX 256 card with the Zalman VGA cooler, 1 X-Fi sound card and a modem...will there be enough space for all those?

and later on will I be able to add a 2nd video card?...I'm thinking I'll be able to add a 2nd video card but without any cooler correct?

I'd just stick with the reference cooler for the 7800, it does the job fine.

but in terms of space I'll be OK correct?...so if later on I added a 2nd GTX card and used the reference cooler then I also would be fine?

lowdog,

How did you get two 7800GTX/512 cards in with the sound card? I’m running two 7800GTX’s with an X-Fi Fatal1ty FPS sound card and there is just barely enough room for air flow for the video card occupying the top PCI Express slot. Here are some pics of my build with the clearance issues-

A8N32 Deluxe with X-Fi Fatal1ty and SLI
