Same RAM timings/voltages? Should I leave vcore @ 1.55 or put it at 1.60?

And yep, errored out at 227x11. 2.7vdimm, 1.55vcore

Try running VCore at 1.6v. Your CPU is going to heat up, but it shouldn't be a problem. Also try running VDimm at 2.8v.

SuperPi just finished successfully 227x11, 1.6vcore, 2.7vdimm.

Should I go ahead and try to run at 209x10 or should I stick with the multi of 11 now that it passes?

I'll increase vdimm to 2.8 regardless.

Congrats. No, stick with 227X11. Higher HTT is better.

Makes me wonder if I shouldn't give that mushkin PC4000 another shot before I sell it off... This OCZ PC3200 sure is quality though. Look how high a speed it's already reached when it is only rated for 200. Even at relaxed timings it's still a bonus.

Yes, DDR ratings are very misleading sometimes. You may get high HTT with PC4000, PC4200 or PC4400, but often with loose timings. There are many PC3200 and PC3500 modules that can outperform PC4000.

Good quality PC3200 and PC3500 seem to be more flexible overall. My mushkin 4000 requires 3-4-4-8 and that's it. At least that's what mushkin tech support told me.

Wow, it just passed a SuperPi 32M w/only 1.525vcore. Odd, it failed earlier at 1.55 and then passed at 1.60. I wonder why the seeming inconsistency there. I'll run the test again right away and see if it passes again or not.

It may be heat-related errors. Running SuperPi 32M back-to-back will really stress a system. Allow adequate time for the CPU to cool down a little.

Well it passed the second time at 1.525vcore but died on the third try. I'm putting it at 1.55 now and will see what happens.

Is it wrong to run this program consecutively like that?

No, it's not wrong. But it really puts a strain on the system. Passing 32M twice is very good. I would go about your regular business (gaming, etc.) and see if things remain stable. If the Cat 4.9 driver is giving you trouble with 3DMark01, you might want to switch back to the 4.8. A few people are having problems with the 4.9, especially when used together with that new control center.

Yea that new Controll FREAK Center was nasty, every time I'd boot up as soon as I got to the desktop my monitor would go blank, freaked me out the first time

If I'd waite for a min or so it'd finly come back on.
Then Halo would say DirextX wasnt installed.
And....Doom3 looks like crap on the 4.9's and................................

I like my FX53 a lot. It's really a question of money and what you're comfortable spending. Some people have gotten good performance out of the 3500+. The FX is a little like the P4EE. Some people would never spend the dough for an EE, while others wouldn't even give it a second thought. The advantage to the FX is the extra cache and the full range of multipliers (not that you'll ever need the 25 multi ). Also, you will never be lacking for power in just about anything you do.
