I had to wait five weeks for my card from the time I pre-ordered. I can't believe ATI and Nvidia underestimated demand. Or, are they taking their time so that the resellers can make a killing?

And here I am at the bottom of the Top-20, right below mdzcpa.

Just for the sake of comparison, here are my benchmarks at stock speeds. Memory is @ 2-2-2-5-1T.

System board is an AV8 though, FYI.

Well I now have it on very good authority that there is a certain via problem that requires chipset change (shocker, huh? ) which has already been done, but boards both abit and asus will ship over here in a couple or feew weeks. So the question will be how to tell which are the new ones. Then all the bios options will work. Multis, locks etc.

It may work fine. Some are more stable than others. Mine for instance runs ok with the beta bios, but can't adjust ddr voltage without freezes but apparently all major issues have been fixed by a new rev that has not shipped yet. Still it will be 1-3 weeks before USA sees them from what I have been told. This effects all Via KT800 Pro boards.

:Popcorn, you may still be okay. I got my board early on and it works fine with the beta BIOS.

I mentioned this to xgman already, but I've been playing with the timings. Can run 260X10 totally stable at 2.8v. That's with 3-3-2-8-7-16. Scored 31,350 in 3DMark01. Not my best, but I was running at a lower clock speed. Someone told me the EB sticks can go up to 290. There's no way my BH-5 could run at 260 without a VDimm mod. I going to try 265X10 tonight. This thread, by the way, is a lot more peaceful than the one at XS. lol.

Yeah, lol...too much mudslinging over there right now, good grief! Well, thx guys for the encouraging words. I'm just not going to worry about it, I'll get the board and we'll see how she decides to act.

BTW, it looks like my order is shipping from newegg today, complete. So hopefully everything will arrive thursday at the latest. Now, if only koolance will get my A64 Water Block adapter out ASAP. I spent the extra money to get that sent 2 Day Air becuase I don't want everything else arriving here and have to wait on that.

Sierra, what is the 7 and 16 timings exactly? 7 = trc and 16 = dram idle or ?

Also when I set 2T command rate in bios to disabled, I see in sandra mainboard info it says 2T not 1T commend rate. What does it say in yours? (I think it is just sandra problem)

lastly I was going to say this in the X thread but I thought why bother. Why do those guys care anything about what the other is doing? It is so irrelevant and a waste of enbrgy to debate it. If anyone was analyzing me that much I would just change threads. Who needs it? Oh well. . . .

I do it mostly just to get Storm's goat

And something else to consider...look at all the entertainment value I provided over the otherwise dull holiday weekend on the forums

To be honest, I won't hold any serious 939 discussions at XS right now. Storm is hell bent on poluting all 939 discussions because he doesn't want to spring for a new FX system.

To be honest XS just hasn't been the same since the split.

Anyway, this thread here is where all the good info is on the A8V

Yes, 7 is TRC and 16 is DRAM Idle Timer. I've never checked Sandra for 1T. But when I use CodeRed's tweaker program, it says 2T disabled.

As for why people argue like that, I don't know. Sometimes it's easier to just say you made a mistake and move on. No one is going to remember anyway, except those with axes to grind.

so what is better 257x10.5 or 260x10. I would think 257x10.5

Jeez, before I have time to respond to one of your questions, you come up with another one. lol.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean about TRC. I gave 7 a try because I think I noticed that French guy at XS was using the same value and getting good Sandra results. I agree that it doesn't seem to have much of an impact.

I'm sure 257X10.5 is better, but that's not what I was running. I was using 253X10.5. I'm still at work so I haven't had time to try 264-265X10. I ran 3D stable at 260X10.

Work? on a holiday? trc 7 gave me 3 more points in sandra. lol. What we need is more voltage to get 3-2-2-8. I went back to 021 bios from 020. I don't see/feel any basic difference. I'm not going to mess with ddr voltage until my booster gets here. Still at 2.62v.
