Excaliberpc. Someone just told me the 512's are back in stock, so I'm going to exchange. Anytime you can find memory that will get over 7000 in Sandra at Cas3, go for it!

At 2.5-2-2-10, the RAM maxes out around 252. At 3-2-2-10, I can make it to 261 which is amazing IMO.

252@cas2.5-2-2-10 is more amazing to me I just cant not get excited about cas any thing cas3 or cas4 for some reason?

Guess it's when I blew a chunk o dough on some PC4200 on my Intel rig...sure I hit 267 1:1....but the system was slugish, and games suffered from cas3.

The EB stuff seems to be different. I've always been a believer in low latencies and tight timings. But there doesn't seem to be much of a difference between Cas2.5 and 3.0 on this RAM. The EB sticks get hot, so a good auxiliary fan is recommended.

I'm still working on trying to break 2800MHz.

You can have my 2X256 sticks since I'm getting the 512's. My X800XT is due to arrive Monday, so there will be some serious benching this coming week.

Still playing with the 3700EB. This is 300X9 using 5:3 divider.

so where, oh where do you suppose you will finally set it (multi, htt, divider, timings) for 24/7 stability incl games?

Hey, I've had these sticks for only a day. I'm entitled to have some fun. lol. I'm trying to find the limits of both the memory and the system. The ATI card's VPU recovery kicks in after I try to go above 300HTT. The system is 3D stable at 2.7GHz, but of course I can bench Sandra much higher. I'm hitting the proverbial brick wall as far as getting everything 100% stable above 2.7GHz. More voltage needed maybe?

Using a divider, I have no trouble benching with the memory running at 253-254.

well all the options keep it interesting. There's some word that if you set the vdim to auto, the clip on mod may work. Too late for me though.

I think charlie tried that mod and it didn't work on his board. Everyone at XS seems to be getting excited about the DFI and Gigabyte boards. My concern about DFI is their lack of experience with A64. They have a couple of 754 boards, but both are microATX. The guy with the Gigabyte engineering sample has gotten his mobo to fly, thanks to a VDimm mod. The only turn-off for non-modders is the VCore which only goes up to 1.7v.

ouch! that could be the deal killer unless there is a non destructive easy vcore mod, which I doubt. I had sort of high hopes for the gigabyte. That's awefull low. The abit gives 1.85 at least.

Yeah, I couldn't believe the VCore either until I read the online manual. The exact wording is "Supports adjustable CPU Vcore from 0.800V to 1.700V by 0.025V step." It's a nice-looking board. Personally, I have more faith in Gigabyte than DFI to produce a good A64 mobo, but we'll see.
