My X850XT PE has been modded with VR's to allow higher core and memory voltage. Higher voltage means higher clocks.

I'm trying 331-3 for tccd since 310 has been good for tccd. At first I flashed back but I am trying it again and it seems ok if I set Dram Data Drive Strength to 2.

The only way to get higher vgpu voltage is by modifying the card itself. There are no BIOS settings that will do that. Some people use a pencil on the card's resistors. The graphite will increase or decrease resistance. That in turn increases or decreases the voltage. You just have to find the right resistors. There are various pencil mod guides on the web. The best way to control voltage is by soldering VR's on the card.

Actually it's very easy to reverse if you need to RMA the card. You just unsolder everything. The VR's are held in place with glue.

Gocchin has used the pencil mod on some of his cards. VR-Zone has a number of guides.

My card is "Built by ATI". If you know how to solder or unsolder, there shouldn't be a problem.

Anyway, this is getting WAY off topic.

Issue with Enermax power supply !!

i have try to put my Power supply Enermax EG701AX-VE(W) (24 P) 600W
that works fine with Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-SLI
to the new DFI NF4 SLI-DR and DFI NF4 SLI-D
and the two boards do not post !!!
the fans do not start (CPU PSU) !!
i try the
Tip #4 - If you can't get the board to boot and the monitor stays blank, try moving the video card to the second PCIe slot. If it boots up from there, update BIOS, then move card back to first slot.
but nothing better happens then....
i put an old one power supply
Zalman ZM400A-APF 20Pin and the 2 boards Boot !!!!!
i do not understand that !!! incompatibility with DFI boards !!!
and Enermax !!!

is anyone have the same problem ?

Does your Enermax have two seperate 12v lines? Also, did you hook up the auxiliary power connectors to the board?

Bios suggestion

the two board has the Bios 01/25/2005
and i updated the boards to 03/10/2005 original Bios from the DFI site

Date Code 2005/03/10
File NF4LD310.zip
Size 390,890 bytes
Description 1. NVMM 4.85 and NV RAID 4.81.
2. Enhanced memory compatibility.
3. Echanced the USB compatibility.

is this Bios ok or would you suggest ( from your personal experience )
another version ?

The floppy connector just provides more power to the board. The reason I asked about the split rail is that it's possible each 12v line is not supplying enough current to the board. Sometimes a PSU with one strong 12v line is better. My PowerStream 600W has two seperate lines, but they're strong enough to power the board. Also, I'm not running SLI.

Yes i have put the auxiliary power connectors.

now i work with Zalman ZM400A-APF 20Pin and only the 20pin and 4pin connected and is working properly.
