MBM5 stopped development last year, so the only way to get it to work with newer motherboards is by changing the configuration file.
I tried that config fikle and it works, but I can only get cpu to show temp on the taskbar. It doens't show up in Dashboard no matter what I select, but no biggie, I don't usually run active monitors anyway. They just make me nervous.

SmartGuardian seems to work fine. I've never felt a need to switch to something else. Anyway, I'm off to the blackjack tables.

More Problems

I'm back. Well, my Ballistix is dead. Windows won't load. It just reboots just as the WindowsXP screen pops up. MemTest errors start right away and never stop. Everything at stock. I threw some BH-6 (yes 6, not 5) in. I got up to 240 with 2-2-2-6 at 3.1v. Had trouble getting much higher without MemTest errors (only 2 at test 5, every other pass), even went to 2.5-3-3-8.

Still don't know whether I'm going to RMA the board. I might do it for **** sake. Have to send my Ballistix back to Crucial anyway.

Do you have the last release of MBM along with the patch? If not, get both of them. I have no problems with MBM showing stuff in the dash.

Why would you RMA a board that is working? If your Ballistix is dead but the BH-6 is working, then the board is working fine. Don't be a deuche and RMA a board that is working. That is why we pay such high dollar for hardware, people RMAing a product that works.

MacGyverSG1 - if you can run BH-6 at 240 with 3.1v, then I would say the board is fine. The problem if you RMA it is that you'll just get another board that will perform about the same. It sounds like your Ballistix may have been the main culprit.

Okay, Blue. I just ran the Nvidia speed test. I also re-ran HD Tach and got a slightly better random access time.

I now have a 3rd set of TCCD to use. I'll have more than enough of this stuff. I didn't get BH-5 replacements. I got the 3200xl instead.

is anyone have the same problem ?
I will let you know.

I've been sitting on an Ultra-D over the weekend. I never found the time to swap it into my system (damn girlfriend ). I've got the 485W from the same Enermax line as your 600W. Oddly enough, the board in my system now is also a K8NXP, but the low-end model.

Again, I will let you know if I have a problem. It will probably be tonight.

yeah my quest is for 280mhz 2-2-2 dual channel hehe

Man thats getting cheep for 1gig OC stuff or not

If there's a demand for it, and we know there is, Newegg will have it in stock shortly. And I doubt they'll let their price be beat by much if any once they have it.

Note that the ExcaliberPC site is in its "beta" version and you can't order anything. That price is only great if you can actually buy the memory.

We'll see.

Excaliberpc has in the past had a close relationship with OCZ. It's usually one of the first places to get any new OCZ RAM. Newegg no longer has the best prices on components, though I've always liked their RMA policy. ZipZoomFly will often undercut Newegg's prices by several dollars and ZZF also has free second-day shipping.
