Updating to a BIOS that has no visible benefits is pointless IMO. With the Neo2, I stuck with the 136 beta because it worked. I tried the others but they were no better.

Down south with a mate just now, he also got the DFI nf4 Ultra-D, and he's having interesting memory problems too... I took my BH-5 down, and we can't even get it to run at DDR400 :O It barely POSTs at all, and won't boot Windows. Memtest fails Test #10 every time, any ideas? His CPU is a 3500+ Newcastle, would that make any difference? This is using the 209 bios with the built in memtest86+.

Testing Kingston KHX3200 (BH-5). Up to 272 with 1.5-2-2-5 timings.

The clockgen version at the cpuid website is no good? The KHX3200 is breaking in nicely.

So if i was going to purchase the Ultra-D. What memory would you recommend my getting to go along with it?

It seems to depend on what CPU you have. Because the CPU has the memory controller built in, the CPU makes a lot of difference. But from I've seen a lot of people are having problems with TCCD at higher speeds. I'm getting my best results with PC3700EB

Memory results are all over the map. Some have had great success with TCCD-based modules. I've had much better luck with old BH-5 and OCZ Gold VX.

Sierra - are your BH5 modules 2X256 or 2X512? I'm not having much luck with BH6 2X512 is all - well 227 2,2,2,7 at 3.1v.

Or does anyone have suggestions for the bewildering list of options in bios

Like what do half of them do? Granularity? Something to do with sugar? j/k.

I'm using 2X256. BH-5 needs lots of voltage (over 3.4v) to perform.

Are you using the 5v jumper on your board now Sierra? I have only tested my BH-5 up to 3.20 actual vdimm, maybe that is what's limiting it?

I still got a pair of older Corsair XMS "Rev 1.1" in my brother's PC.
Anyone knows if those are BH-5s?

I think the Rev 1.1 were BH-5, is it PC3200 or 3500?

Yes, I use the jumper. 3.2v usually isn't going to get you very far with BH-5.

Clockgen is actually supplied on the support CD - though it doesn't work for me - hard lock on setting fsb - also smart speed (beta) utility supplied doesn't adjust htt, though voltages adjust ok. Only prgoram I've got to work at the moment is ntune, which is 'limited' to say the least.
